Welcome to The Outlook Riding Academy—a boutique, family-run equestrian centre nestled on 18 picturesque acres in Terrigal on the Central Coast. Founded and operated by a mother-and-daughter team, our property sits halfway between Avoca Beach and Terrigal, bordering national parkland and Avoca Lake.

Whether you are stepping into the stirrups for the very first time, returning to riding as an adult, or looking for a memorable family outdoor experience, we offer a warm, inclusive space for riders of all ages and abilities.

Our herd of calm, well-schooled horses and ponies enjoy their work as much as we do, giving you the confidence to learn in a safe, supportive setting. Beyond building equestrian skills, the Academy is a vibrant social community where riders and families regularly form lasting friendships that extend well beyond the stables.

Meet the Director: Sarndie (Sam)

Sarndie—best known to everyone as Sam—is a busy business owner, wife, and mother to four kids, alongside a bustling farm family of horses, sheep, alpacas, chickens, and cats! With a background in education (holding a Bachelor of Education and certification in Applied Behavioural Analysis), Sam has spent decades teaching children, adolescents, and adults across schools, TAFE, and universities. Combining her passion for teaching with a lifetime of equine experience, she established The Outlook Riding Academy to share the joy, wisdom, and life lessons that horses bring.

Safety, encouragement, and high-quality coaching underpin everything we do.

  • Experienced Instructors: All Academy instructors hold current accreditation with the Australian Horse Riding Centres (AHRC) NCAS Level 1, bringing extensive coaching, teaching, and riding experience to every lesson.

  • Professional Standards: We maintain membership with Equestrian Australia and the Australian Horse Riding Centres Association, ensuring highest-standard welfare, safety, and operational practices.

  • Complete Horsemanship: Our instructors take the time to know every rider personally, matching you with the right horse and guiding you through catching, grooming, tacking, and riding.
