HORSEMANSHIP COURSE

Learn more than how to ride.

Riding is only one part of knowing horses.

This 10-session course is designed to teach you the practical knowledge that every horse person should have — from safely handling and grooming a horse to understanding their behaviour, health, nutrition and basic care.

It’s ideal for kids, adults, beginners, returning riders and anyone wanting to become more confident and capable around horses.

You’ll learn both on the ground and in the saddle, with plenty of practical, hands-on learning along the way.

THE 10 STEPS

1. Horse Behaviour & Body Language
Learn how horses communicate through their eyes, ears, posture and movement, and how to recognise signs of relaxation, stress and discomfort.

2. Handling & Leading
Learn how to safely approach, halter, lead and work around a horse, including personal space and safe boundaries.

3. Grooming & Daily Care
Learn which brushes to use, how to groom correctly and what to look for while checking your horse.

4. Anatomy & Equipment
Understand basic horse anatomy and learn about rugs, tack and other everyday equipment.

5. Horse Health & Nutrition
Learn the basics of feeding, hydration, teeth and gums, hoof care, supplements and what a healthy horse should look and feel like.

6. First Aid, Bandaging & Medication
Learn practical care skills, including basic bandaging, recognising when something may be wrong, and understanding how to administer medication safely under appropriate direction.

7. Groundwork & Communication
Work with your horse from the ground and develop better timing, body language, boundaries and communication.

8. Preparing Your Horse to Ride
Learn how to correctly prepare, tack up and get your horse ready for a ride.

9. Riding & The Centred Seat
Develop your balance, position and communication in the saddle while learning to work with your horse’s movement.

10. Putting It All Together
Bring everything together and work towards confidently handling, caring for, preparing and riding a horse with greater independence.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • 10 private, face-to-face sessions | $880 upfront — $88 per session

  • Sessions are approximately 45–60 minutes and include a combination of practical horse care, groundwork, theory and riding.

  • Not every session is spent in the saddle. We move at your pace and focus on what you need to learn.

This course is for you if you want to:

LIBERTY TRAINING

Learn to communicate without ropes or reins.

Liberty is a natural progression for riders who want to explore communication and connection with their horse from the ground.

Working without ropes or reins teaches you to pay closer attention to body language, timing, position and your horse’s responses.

It can be a great introduction to liberty for beginners or a way for experienced riders to develop their feel and communication further.

All lessons must be booked at least 24 hours in advance through EC Pro

Cancellation Policy:

To cancel or reschedule a lesson, please log on to EC Pro and make adjustments to your upcoming session 24 hours before the start time. Upon cancellation, the lesson credit will be reinstated as online EC PRO credit in your account. For a full credit refund, all changes (cancellations/rescheduling) must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson.

Please note that a credit refund pertains solely to EC PRO account credit. We do not issue refunds through bank transfers, cash, or any alternative methods. If the notice period is less than 24 hours, no refund or credit will be provided. Your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these terms are greatly appreciated.
